Account and billing
Your Outpost account is the subscription behind your Outpost: who it belongs to, which plan it is on, how it is paid for, and where it is hosted. This section is for the person who signs up and pays, and for anyone who has to explain a line on an invoice.
The account, the portal, and the console
Section titled “The account, the portal, and the console”You deal with your account in two places:
- The Outpost portal is where you sign up, choose your plan and your Outpost address, add payment methods, pay invoices, and cancel. You sign in to it with a code sent to your email address, or with a passkey.
- The console is where your team manages endpoints. Its Settings > Billing page shows your plan, the current period’s usage, and your invoices, so the people who need to read the bill do not need the portal.
The account owner
Section titled “The account owner”The person who completes the sign-up is the account owner, and becomes the first owner of the console when the Outpost is set up. Only the account owner can change the plan, manage payment methods and the billing address, edit the account details, and schedule cancellation.
In the console, owners and any role that holds the billing:read permission
can open Settings > Billing. See Permissions.
