Release notes
Every released version of Outpost has a note here. Read the one for the version you are moving to, and read every note between your current version and it: the upgrade notes are cumulative and one of them may need a step before you start.

What is in a note
Section titled “What is in a note”Each note has the same seven sections, in the same order, with the same anchors. A section with nothing in it is left out, except upgrade notes, which always says something even when that something is that there is nothing to do.

Channels
Section titled “Channels”A version reaches you through one of four channels, and a note says which:
- stable is what you install in production.
- rc is a release candidate, published so that a deployment can test against it before it becomes stable.
- qa and dev are internal lanes. Notes for them appear here only when a change is worth reading about early.
Versions and components
Section titled “Versions and components”Components are versioned separately, because they release separately. Depot, the Agent and Tray each have their own numbering, and a Depot version does not imply an Agent version. Where a version of one requires a version of another, the upgrade notes say so.
