Manage your sign-in and security

Your account’s sign-in settings are in the account menu, which shows your name. This page covers passkeys, the authenticator app, recovery codes, your password, and the devices you are signed in on.

These pages ask you to confirm who you are again if you have been away from them for 15 minutes. Adding a passkey, setting up an authenticator app, or linking a work account asks you to confirm it’s you first if you have not signed in or confirmed recently. You always keep at least one second sign-in step, so the portal will not let you remove the last one.

A passkey signs you in with your fingerprint, face, or device PIN. There is nothing to type and nothing to steal.

  1. Open the account menu and select Sign-in and security.
  2. Under Passkeys, select Add a passkey and follow your browser’s prompt.

Each passkey shows the address it works on, when it was added, and when it was last used. A passkey works only on the portal address it was made on. If your IT provider moves the portal to a new address, the portal asks you to add a passkey for it.

To remove one, select Remove beside it.

Under Authenticator app:

  • Set up an authenticator app adds one. Add the account to the app, enter the code it shows in Code from the app, and select Turn on. Save the recovery codes the portal then shows. They are not shown again.
  • New recovery codes makes a fresh set. The old ones stop working.
  • Turn off removes the authenticator app. You then sign in with a passkey, so add one first.

If your organization signs in with its own work accounts, such as Microsoft or Google, and you already had a portal password, link your work account once. After that you can sign in with either.

  1. Open the account menu and select Sign-in and security.
  2. Under Company sign-in, select Link your work account.
  3. Confirm it’s you if asked, then sign in to your work account.

You come back to the security page. If your organization does not use a company sign-in, the page says there is nothing to link.

  1. Under Password, enter your Current password and a New password.
  2. Select Change password.

Changing it signs you out everywhere else. If your organization signs in with its own work accounts, your password is managed there instead.

  1. Open the account menu and select Your account.
  2. Where you are signed in lists each device and browser, when it was last active, when it signed in, and how.
  3. To end one, select Sign out beside it.

If you do not recognize one, sign it out, then change your password.

On Your account, under About you, change Your name, which your organization and your IT provider see, and Time zone, which is used for dates in emails and for scheduled reports. Select Save.

You are always emailed about sign-ins and security changes on your account, so you know if someone else gets in. This email cannot be turned off.
