Agent 0.4.0 completes two Depot 0.8.0 changes on the endpoint: remote sessions with no time limit, and live chat that follows your plan. Install it with or after Depot 0.8.0.
Highlights
Section titled “Highlights”- Sessions with no time limit. When
remote_access.session_max_secondsis0, the agent keeps the session open until it ends for another reason. See Limit session length. - Clear live chat status. On a plan without the service desk, the tray app says Live chat is not available on this PC. and does not offer a chat or a ticket. See Use the Outpost tray app.
Changed
Section titled “Changed”Remote sessions
Section titled “Remote sessions”Before 0.4.0, the agent ended every remote session when its authorization expired, which for a session with no time limit is 24 hours after it starts. In 0.4.0, the agent ends a session at its expiry only when the session has a time limit. Technician idle limits, framework floors, and the other ways a session ends still apply. See Configure access modes and consent.
Live chat
Section titled “Live chat”The agent passes the reason live chat is unavailable to the tray app when your plan does not include the service desk, so the tray app can say so. See Live chat.
Upgrade notes
Section titled “Upgrade notes”Use with Depot 0.8.0. Follow Agent updates to check for or install the update. The agent service restarts during an update, and the endpoint briefly appears offline.
An agent older than 0.4.0 ends a remote session that has no time limit 24 hours after the session starts. A change of signed-in user near that point can end the session slightly earlier on those agents. Update endpoints where technicians need longer sessions.
