Organization details and branding
Settings > Details shows the facts about your organization that Outpost recorded when it was provisioned, and lets an owner change its name and put its logo on the console sign-in page. Use it to confirm which addresses your console answers on and whether your license is in good standing.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- Viewing this page needs
client:read, which the owner and the Accounting role hold. Anyone else sees Only an owner can see organization settings. - Changing the name or logo needs
client:manage, which among the built-in roles only the owner holds. - The logo is kept in your storage destination, so storage must be set up. See Storage destinations.
Check your organization details
Section titled “Check your organization details”Go to Settings > Details. The Organization card lists:
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Your organization’s name. |
| Organization id | The identifier Outpost uses for your organization. |
| Console addresses | Every address your console answers on. Not shown on the MSP plan, where clients have no console address of their own. |
| License | The state of your Outpost license, and the product your license is for. |
| Licensed to | The licensee named in your signed license, when there is one. |
Console addresses are set when Outpost is provisioned and cannot be changed on this page.
Rename your organization
Section titled “Rename your organization”- Go to Settings > Details.
- On the Organization card, enter the Organization name.
- Select Save name.
The name changes in the console and synchronizes to billing records shortly afterward. Renaming the organization does not change its console addresses.
Add a logo to the sign-in page
Section titled “Add a logo to the sign-in page”The logo appears above the sign-in card for anyone who opens your console, including people who are not signed in.
- Go to Settings > Details.
- On the Sign-in page logo card, under Choose an image, choose the file. It must be PNG, JPEG, or WebP, and no larger than 1 MB.
- Check the preview.
- Select Upload logo.
The logo is shown 48 pixels tall, so an image with a wide aspect ratio reads best. SVG files are refused, because an SVG can carry script and the logo is served to visitors who are not signed in.
To take the logo down, select Remove the current logo.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”Sign out, or open your console address in a private browser window. The sign-in page shows your logo above the Sign in card.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Outpost has no file storage configured yet, so there is nowhere to put the logo. | No storage destination is active. | Add one. See Storage destinations. |
| You do not have permission to change the logo. | You do not hold client:manage. | Ask an owner. |
