Sign in to the Outpost portal
The Outpost portal is where you manage your Outpost account: your plan, payment methods, invoices, and cancellation. It has no password. You sign in with a code sent to your email address, or with a passkey you added earlier. This page covers both, and the portal’s Security and Account details pages.
The portal is not your console. Your team signs in to the console at your own Outpost address, with the password set there.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- You need the email address the account was created with. See Create your Outpost account.
Sign in with an email code
Section titled “Sign in with an email code”- Open the Outpost portal. It opens on Sign in to Outpost.
- In Email, enter your email address.
- Select Send me a code. The page says If your address has an Outpost account, a code is on its way. It expires in 10 minutes. It says the same for an address that has no account, so it cannot be used to find out who has one.
- In Sign-in code, enter the 6-digit code from the email.
- Select Sign in.
To send the code to a different address, select Use a different email.
Sign in with a passkey
Section titled “Sign in with a passkey”A passkey lets you sign in with your device’s screen lock or a security key instead of a code. You add one from the Security page once you are signed in, as described below.
- Open the Outpost portal. It opens on Sign in to Outpost.
- Select Sign in with a passkey. You do not need to enter your email first.
- Follow your browser’s prompt.
The Sign in with a passkey button appears only in browsers that support passkeys.
Add and manage passkeys
Section titled “Add and manage passkeys”- In the portal navigation, select Security.
- On the Passkeys card, select Add passkey.
- Follow your browser’s prompt to create the passkey.
- In Name this passkey (optional), enter a name you will recognize, such as the device it is on.
- Select Save passkey.
Each passkey shows when it was added and last used, and Synced when it is stored in a password manager or cloud keychain that copies it between your devices. Select Rename to change its name, or Delete and then Remove to delete it. You can have up to 10 passkeys.
Review active sessions
Section titled “Review active sessions”The Active sessions card on the Security page lists every browser signed in to your account, how it signed in, and when it was last active. The session you are using is marked Current session.
- Select Revoke beside another session to sign that browser out.
- Select Sign out beside the current session to sign out here.
A portal session lasts at most 7 days, and ends sooner when it has not been used for 24 hours. You then sign in again.
The Recent activity card lists recent security events on your account with the time of each, such as Signed in, Failed sign-in attempt, Account temporarily locked, Passkey added, and Session signed out. Check it for anything you do not recognize.
Update your account details
Section titled “Update your account details”- In the portal navigation, select Account details.
- Select Edit details.
- Change Legal name, Display name, Website (optional), Time zone, or Country.
- Select Save changes.
Only the account owner can save these details. Plan type shows whether the account is for an organization, an MSP, or personal use, and can only be changed by Outpost support.
The Account details page also holds the Invoice recipients card, where the account owner chooses which email addresses receive invoices, receipts, and payment reminders. See Choose who receives invoices.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”After you sign in, the portal opens on the dashboard, headed Welcome, followed by your organization’s display name.
